The Tobique Gaming Commission (TGC) is the online-gaming regulatory body created by Tobique First Nation, also known as Neqotkuk, in New Brunswick, Canada. The commission states that it was established under the Tobique Gaming Act 2023 after the Chief and Council enacted the Act on 13 October 2023. Its stated function includes licensing and regulating online gaming enterprises from within Tobique First Nation and setting conditions intended to protect participants, minors and vulnerable people.
TGC publishes a live licence-holder register rather than relying only on seals displayed by casino operators. The register identifies licensed companies, licence expiry dates and whether the authorization is B2C or B2B. It also publishes its General Code of Practice, regulations concerning anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing controls, a Remote Gambling AML Code of Practice and the Gaming Act itself. These documents form the public regulatory framework used alongside individual licence records.
The commission also maintains a dedicated complaints route and a list of sites it says are falsely claiming Tobique authorization. Complaints concerning a Tobique-licensed operator must be submitted through the complaints link in the Tobique Shield displayed on licensed sites; the commission says legitimate shields connect to its validation service. Its fraudulent-sites register is updated with domains that imitate or misuse TGC licensing claims. These verification tools make the licence-holder register and shield validation more reliable checks than a casino footer viewed in isolation.
