Horse Racing 2026

Horse Racing wagering uses the official result of a scheduled race to settle bets on one or more runners. Straight wagers can focus on a horse to win or place, while combination bets such as exactas and trifectas require multiple runners to finish in a specified order. Multi-race products can link selections from several consecutive events.

The pricing model changes how returns are calculated. A fixed-odds Horse Racing ticket keeps the quoted return accepted at placement; pool or pari-mutuel wagering instead divides the available pool among winning tickets after deductions. OLG's current racing material presents the sport as a distinct betting product and provides access to race information and wagering options rather than treating every market as one standard bet.

Settlement can change when a horse is scratched, a race is cancelled or postponed, or a dead heat occurs. The operator's published rules determine how those situations affect the ticket. Wagering on an actual race should also be distinguished from virtual racing simulations found in some casino lobbies, because simulated events use software-generated results instead of the outcome of a live sporting contest.

Horse Racing is best understood through the specific event and wager being offered: the selected race, bet type, quoted price or pool structure, and settlement rules all affect how the ticket works. Those details can differ substantially between a simple win wager, an ordered-finish combination and a multi-race selection.
