Baccarat compares two automatically played hands, Player and Banker, with the winning side being the one whose final total is closest to nine. Tens and face cards count as zero, aces as one and other cards at face value; only the last digit of a total is used. The bettor normally chooses Player, Banker or Tie rather than making hit-or-stand decisions.
