The Canadian dollar is Canada’s currency, identified by the code CAD and the dollar symbol. The Bank of Canada is the country’s sole authority for issuing bank notes and currently supplies polymer notes in $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 denominations.
Canada is also preparing future designs while the present series remains in circulation. The Bank of Canada has started work on a new $20 note featuring King Charles III and has announced Terry Fox for the next $5 design, but those projects do not invalidate current notes. For casino use, CAD refers to the denomination of the account balance. A CAD display does not necessarily mean every payment method settles directly in Canadian dollars, so conversion can still occur at the bank or payment-provider level.
